Welcome. Jessica started out in 4H at 12 years old with a Netherland Dwarf. Ever since then she has been breeding and showing rabbits. In her 4H days showing Netherland Dwarfs, Himalayans, Fuzzy Lops, some pets, and now she breeds and shows Holland Lops, Lionheads, and with the new help of her husband Scott, French Lops have been added to the barn. We currently have about 50 holes but at this time only have about 35 of them filled. We try to keep our numbers small, so that we cull harder therefore selling better quality stock. Color is fun but we consentrate on sweet tempered, solid boned, big heads, and smaller but round proportioned bodies. Our rabbits are taken out to play 2-3 times a week, and are given a brief health check at that time. We strongly believe that bad temperment is partially genetic. So if a rabbit shows any signs of aggression that one is removed from our herd. We are located in Antioch, located in the east bay area in Northern California.
WE HAVE STOPPED BREEDING AND SHOWING to raise our human babies. We may start back up when they are old enough to show rabbits if they are interested.

Updates:Well all the FL's have been weaned. 3 are left. 1 broken steel, steel, and broken chestnut. Amber and Lou had 3 kits on 10-2-2008. 1 black, 1 tort, and 1 tort otter. Our closing date has been pushed off once again. Hopefully next monday we will close escrow. Spice passed due to unknown causes on 9-2-2008. She left behind 6 kits. All are still alive. Sire was Phantom. 2 being nursed by a friend's dutch, and 4 being nursed by Lilly. From that litter we have 1 mismarked steel, 1 good steel, 2 broken steel, and 2 broken chestnuts. Lilly has 1 kit, a broken tort. sire was Lou. And is fostering 4 french lop kits from spice. Doing good for being a first time mom, and foster mom. We have bought a house, and have a new rabbit barn. This heat has forced all the rabbits into our house this summer. So we have several 6 stack cages in our living room, overflowing with rabbits. We are excited to move everybody into our new roomy barn, which will be temperature controled. :) that should happen mid september to mid October 2008. The new barn is great! We love it so much. We have room for everyone outside with room for more. It is getting close to the hot months so we will be putting in an AC shortly. The AC is in! we also put up misters around the outside of the barn to cool the building down, and for the chickens. Well we gave up on the AC and rabbit barn. We ran that thing all day and it was hotter in the barn then outside. So all the rabbits are now outside, and doing much better! |
